Come to Victoria in the spring

The Guide Outfitters Association of British Columbia would like to invite you to come have the time of your life. Victoria is a beautiful old city with historic sites, numerous shops, tree-lined avenues and an intriguing waterfront to explore. Our Conference is in the famous Fairmont Empress Hotel and we rattle a few royal ghosts with our event but they don’t seem to mind.

Our AGM commences on Wednesday afternoon and goes through to Friday lunch. Friday morning we host our Life Members at a breakfast fit for kings. Friday afternoon the golfers head out for the ‘Grizzly Open’, a golf tournament fraught with the danger of laughing so much you can’t hit a ball. You will laugh, when you have to join some of our outfitters whose idea of golf has something to do with ‘horseapples’ and willow sticks.

Friday evening we take entertainment to new heights every year with certain outfitters performing wearing red tutus for a ballet, to belly dancing, to tricycle races, to the best reality show in North America. It’s a time to get to know the members who have generously donated trips to be auctioned. And a time to renew old acquaintances. And best of all a time to make new friends and exchange hunting stories.

Saturday morning start your day with a champagne and orange juice brunch. Orange is very healthy. See who gets the award for the biggest trophies taken in BC this past season and who had an exceptional hunt and who made the biggest effort. We also feature our many hunting and conservation partner organizations. This is your opportunity to buy a great trip, or a singular piece of original or some totally useful collectable or maybe a gorgeous gift for the lady of your life. . You may find the hunt, fishing trip, or wilderness adventure of a lifetime right here. Every trip is among the best each outfitter has to offer.

Saturday evening enjoy the impeccable banquet service at the grand Empress Hotel and help us honor our special friends. Then dance the night away to the legendary sound of Lee Dinwoodie in the best country & western style around.

Join us in our long tradition of just having a lot of fun and raising some good dollars to fight the good fight – we need this organization to help keep the hunting industry alive and well in BC. Daily we are confronted with someone who’d like to put a stop to hunting.
